the police played their final show at MSG in NYC a few weeks ago. they played somewhere around 150 show, to over 3 million people and earned at least 300 million dollars. nice work if you can get it. i sat the reunion out. i've seen sting before. twice in '94, once in '96. and i've seen stewart.. in '94... and hung out with vinx for a while. if they had reformed 10 years ago, i'd be there. they played fantastic, but i like my favorite bands as they were, and i don't need to have them come back to entertain me... or charge me $200 for the honor of seeing them play. having said that... here's some fantastic clips from the golden days of the blonde trio. this clip is epic. campy, satirical... playing crappy instruments and faking the song, while actually singing... one of the most impressiv esingles of the past 30 years... intelligent, political and painfully catchy. and god... what a look. anyway... here's one to blow minds . stings first successfu...

this weekend, the spots are playing our one and only full-set show this summer, at speakeasy of course. next week, we will be opening for drew holcomb at workplay, but it will probably be a 30 min set. i am looking forward to playing workplay with the spots... i'm surprised we haven't played there until now. looking at my schedule, the spots seem to be the only active band i'm in at the moment. september 5th, i'll be doing a rock oriented dj set at speaskeasy during the 2008 artwalk festival, after which point i'm going to be making some major changes heading into year 34.
