how to spend like a millionaire

From Jeff Lehman, author of The Frugal Millionaires . Saving thousands while still spending. Millionaires make up just 2 percent of the population. They get a bad rap during recessions for being wasteful with their money and are frequently used as examples of excess. It's the millionaires that you don't see that you can learn from in times like these. I call them the frugal millionaires and interviewed 70 of them to uncover ways we can all be smarter with money. Nearly 70 percent of the economy is based on consumer spending. To keep the economy going we need to keep spending but not waste money in the process. This is where the frugal millionaires come in. They've been smart with their money all along and haven't lost it all and had to remake it. These are the kind of people you want to learn from when it comes...

north korea is trying to restart the korean war

Pyongyang, reacting angrily to Seoul's decision to join an international program to intercept ships suspected of aiding nuclear proliferation, called the move tantamount to a declaration of war. " It is a laughable delusion for the United States to think that it can get us to kneel with sanctions," it said in an editorial. "We've been living under U.S. sanctions for decades, but have firmly safeguarded our ideology and system while moving our achievements forward. The U.S. sanctions policy toward North Korea is like striking a rock with a rotten egg ." " Now that the South Korean puppets were so ridiculous as to join in the said racket and dare declare a war against compatriots ," North Korea is " compelled to take a decisive measure ." On Wednesday, the regime promised " unimaginable and merciless punishment " for anyone daring to challenge its ships. The regime also said it could no longer promise the safety of U.S. and South ...

tears for fears - elemental

this is the title track from the 1993 TFF record. gail ann dorsey on bass, and roland stepping out as a quasy solo artist. i've never seen this video. it looks inspired, but kinda cheesy 16 years later. this album ruled my life in 1993. great song. great clothes. and my goodness... look at roland's hair! smooooooooth.

NIN / Bullshit / 1991 clip

we went sunday night to see nine inch nails and jane's addiction at the atlanta lakewood amphitheatre. we got there in time to get our will call tix, but ended up standing in line for over and hour... thus missing most of the NIN set. our tickets were never found . we had to buy lawn seats and sit in the back. the show included an opening set by street sweeper social club, then nin, then jane's addiction - in that order. we got to see exactly half of the entire evening's show. apparently this was a huge fuck up... so much so that trent reznor personally made sure heads rolled at lakewood / live nation. there's a chance they might swing back through to play again. i got a refund, but it was still complete bullshit. nonetheless, this tour is very stripped down compared to the over-the-top tour earlier this year. the setlist, comprised mainly of tracks nin hasn't played in years, was interesting. it was cool that the set included mr. self destruct and gave...

the - iHouse

http://www.clayton-media.com/ihous e an extended article via metropulse KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – From its bamboo floors to its rooftop deck, Clayton Homes ' new industrial-chic "i-house" is about as far removed from a mobile home as an iPod from a record player. Architects at the country's largest manufactured home company embraced the basic rectangular form of what began as housing on wheels and gave it a postmodern turn with a distinctive v-shaped roofline, energy efficiency and luxury appointments. Stylistically, the "i-house" might be more at home in the pages of a cutting-edge architectural magazine like Dwell — an inspirational source — than among the Cape Cods and ranchers in the suburbs. The layout of the long main "core" house and a separate box-shaped guestroom-office "flex room" resemble the letter "i" and its dot. Yet Clayton CEO and President Ke...

good news / bad news / good news / dishy news

1. nin , ever touring... is playing in ATL on sunday. this will be my 4th nin show, and alison's first. nin is touring with a newly (and entirely) reunited jane's addiction... thus, the tour is called the nin/ja 2009 tour. the logic in this double bill is that both bands "got all huge" beginning in 1989, and this is the 20th year of both bands touring in the same festival circuits... or something. 2. unfortunately... based on comments, and strange web graphics on the tour page ... trent is kinda sorta sayin' that this will be the last nin tour for a long time. he's calling this the 'wave goodbye' tour. that's silly. 3. no doubt is back together (for now) and is touring... and i'd love to see them june 5th in ATL. who knows. i dunno if there are even tix left. the first time i ever got a glimpse of the live, was on a 1997 much music special, featuring them performing live in front of a studio audience that fell out into the street. ...
