this is a car from my childhood memory. i've had the image of the amc eagle wagon in my head for several months now... but until today, i hadn't been able to track it down. i initially remembered the car being experimental, suv-like and high off of the ground... and i thought it was called a concord. i was close. amc made a concord from 1978 until the mid 80's... and the eagle was part of the same concord line. the amc eagle was made around the same time, and based somewhat on concord design factors. these things seems to have vanished... but i remember being impressed by their size and bold design at the time. in the early 80's, folks probably would have seen the eagle as a hybrid of designs, similar to the delorean, subaru, and ford sedans of the time. more info at www.amceaglenest.com according to historical info, the sedan was often seen as being over-the -top and somewhat silly... having been designed as a car w/ 4x4 capabilities. 25 years later, many of the fe...

i'm attempting some sort of coherent year-end-review later in the week, but i'll preface that post with this summation of winter thus far, including the festivities... xmas was pretty much flawless... i'm quite pleased with my gifts, and i'm fairly confident that everyone appreciated mine... including the rare/esoteric stocking stuffers courtesy of the cold war era. i spent xmas with alison and her family in fairhope and got a lot of hours logged in playing wii tennis with alison's sister's husband bill. good stuff. alison's dad kicked my ass a few times at fake tennis for good measure. we also had a xmas-day dinner at uncle sam's ranch for wayward dogs. totally. we got off to a late start, but alison and i eventually made our way over to mcshan's girlfriend dawn's house for some treats and wine... around 10pm we visited the wells nye party and had some bubbly and beer and amusing conversations with clint, liz, brad lyons and that elle mac gen...
