last weekend i did some house sitting for ashby. i messed around with bassline ideas. nothing really happened. i just wasted a bunch of time creating bass fills. i'm not sure what they were filling though. on saturday i slept in... but was pleasantly awoken by a hummingbird buzzin' round my door. i went to a birthday party for ashby's girl, christine.
later in the evening my boy aaron came up to bham and we watched caddle rock the ever lovin' fuck out of the nick crowd. they did a cover of "hey ya" that killed... although they kinda lost it at the end. the bassist, during the first song, was so out of tune that i started to see pink dots in my line of vision.
the crowd itself was kinda trashy. aaron and i talked a lotta shit about some people. we were feeling really catty. he loves to sneak brew into the club. i think we might be dating. oh well. i never saw myself with another man, but at least that ends my dry spell. i gotta be careful though. he's young. i don't want to him to get hurt. i'm damaged goods. in the end... i'll be no good for him.
the nick is kinda getting a bit tedious for me. i like going less and less. i like playing there less. i'm starting to get annoyed by the lack of maintenance. they still haven't put the "sign" back up that came down during "rain storm" ivan.
could it be happening? does something occur when you hit 30 and all of a sudden you require a classier environment? nah. i'm probably just burned out on the nick.
sunday? ummm. oh... i slept in, did some yard work, took my mom out to dinner, and did a photo session for the cullman based band "the bloodlet signature." shot guns, beer cans, muscle cars, a broke down van... all in a field. very funny. peter, one of the guys in the band is always well spoken and polite. you don't find that in emo much. most emo kids are good for one thing. target practice.
this week... the emph-a-sis is on me, mr. bassist. *yawn* this weekend i'd like to get a lot of recording done. clint and aaron might come over to record their funky americana song, "fuckin' oklahoma." could be funny.
