i'm too old for this.

i'm posting a myspace message thread. actually, it was in response to a bulletin. the person who posted the bulletin, was on my friends list. let's call them "billary." billary posted a bulletin with the title: "mr.. barack hussein obama"... the contents of the bulletin was this photo:

hillary and bill... and dubya... non of them were doing anything wrong either... just seeking a photo op. but obama, actually HAS somalian heritage. is that a BAD thing?

what about the fact that somalia is a largely christian nation, with muslims amounting to about 10 percent of the population?

most people sling mud when they are about to lose. HRC is using smear again, just like she's always done.

i don't think there is anything wrong with it at all--kudos to barack, hillary, bill, ronald, george, etc. i simply posted a photo and his full name. last i checked that wouldn't fall into the category of "mud slinging. "

of course not. hiding behind the convenient shield of innuendo... resting all implications on the viewer.

while sitting back and then saying... "oh my goodness... we don't see anything wrong with this either. poor fellow!"

hitler did the same thing before burning down the reitzstag in berlin.

its actually worse than a usual smear campaign, because you are manipulating the viewer through implication as well. nasty nasty stuff. not a good way to promote truth.

i can't help the fact you felt the need to defend him when you saw that photo. i've sen. obama, i've made financial contributions to his campaign as well as sen. clintons. he will have my vote if me manages to make the democratic nomination.

i was just eager to see how many of his supporters felt the impulsion to defend that picture. there is no way i would ever feel the need to defend hillary wearing that... but, then again i opted to support someone who is safely entrenched behind undeniable facts.

ok, i'm going to softly, step away from this conversation.

you are delusional. very delusional.

you posted the photo with obama's name to specifically ellicit a response. maybe not a negative or defensive response. the viewer... as much as you are heaping innuendo upon them... still has the baseline understanding that YOU are wanting a response. or worse... you are wanting to shape perception by implication.

any way you try to shadow box around it... its still bullshit.

vote for whomever... that's not my concern.

and i can assure you... that hillary clinton is NOT safely entrenched in the facts. she has stretched and manipulated her record more than anyone else in this campaign.

and at he very least... she wants to be chief executive, but she can't run a unified campaign, her sense of entitlement led her to think that she wouldn't need money after feb 5th... silly

she is accusing obama of multiple crimes that she has done herself. like obama said... it is silly season in politics.

her iraq policy is skewed, she couldn't get healthcare reform the first time around... and even the court appointees she coddled couldn't make it through. what exactly CAN she get passed?

it was bullshit for me to post that photo--i deleted the bulletin.

i honestly was messing around with some of my close friends who are constantly posting anti-hillary bulletins, messages and comments on my page. i should have considered there would be people like yourself that wouldn't realize where i stand or what my intention really was. for that, i extend to you my apologies.

i should post more of this stuff. i never lose. although i did forget to mention one thing... that her implications were also grossly ethnocentric.

rubys / end scene

my good friend grey watson, with whom i play in two bands, is moving to south korea at the beginning of june for a one year teaching contract. he's in his late 20's, so this is pretty much the perfect opportunity to go abroad. this will effectively dismantle our rock trio, rubys... and will put a definite damper on through the sparks. we were planning on starting an album soon, but everyone stayed in a holding pattern until we knew what grey was going to do. now hopefully we can at least record some live demos of the new material so it doesn't get lost. at some point we might release the ep we recorded as a 5 piece at jody nelson's house in early 2010. at my age, i don't think in terms of years anymore. they go by too fast. 5 years ago, i was already recording with the spots. life moves pretty fast. anyway... so rubys will be going out in a blaze of glory. we have two shows lined up with the grenadines - one at the nick in birmingham and one somewhere in tuscaloosa...

through the sparks darfur concert clips

mark nelson, jody neslon's brother... has posted some youtube clips of the set we played during the darfur benefit show. i'm the black speck in the left corner. you can see me rocking the tamborine on a few of these. everytime i played keys or guitar i seem to vanish. even the huge black grand piano seems to be absent. great show. great sound. huge crowd. lots of fun. and i think we saved africa... ha. through the sparks proper - greg, jody, the mimikakis brothers and james... all played with a great sense of groove during this set. i had time to listen... great stuff. several new songs were played during the set. like a dove , buddy holly's gun , vampires , turn everything off . the set not only featured chad fisher, gary wheat and myself... but also featured a 7 minute multi-percussionist ensemble, which you can see the beginnings of, on the clip buddy holly's gun . the horn hook on like a dove is pure magic. the horns also sound fantastic on the final if and...
