as the planet awaits a solid release date for the film adaptation of the road... i figured a sensible listing of apocalyptic fiction would suffice in the interim.

these also seem like proper winter reading, considering the barren trees, the recent severity of winter storms, erratic temperatures... an economy bleeding through it's eyes... the end of an era in america... and the decade. i'm looking forward to finally read some of these. the road takes place most likely in the deep south... and the first of these books i'm probably going to read will be alas, babylon... which is set in central florida. i might re-read i am legend as well. umbrella drinks are on me. alas:
emergence (1984)
yellow peril (1981)
deathlands series (1986)
alas, babylon (1959)
by the waters of babylon (1937)
the last man (1826)
theologus autodidactus (1268)
day of the triffids (1951)
lucifer's hammer (1977)
...and possibly other works based on general christian eschatology
